June Lorine Scherb, age 90, of Kiester, MN, died Friday, May 11, 2018 at Hidden Creek Assisted Living in Albert Lea, MN. A graveside service will be held at a later date at Our Savior's Cemetery.

June Lorine was born June 9, 1927 in Kiester Township, MN, the daughter of Victor and Kathryn (Loberg) Boettcher. She attended country school and graduated from Kiester High School in 1945. She was united in marriage to Alvin Scherb June 8, 1949 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Kiester. Together they raised their family in rural Kiester.

She worked at the Albert Lea Title Company, and was a teller at the First State Bank in Kiester for many years. She enjoyed reading and dancing at the Pines and Golden Bubble. She was a seamstress for her family and a baker extraordinaire (Sally Ann cookies, spice cake, and homemade bread among her specialties). She very much enjoyed reminiscing with family and friends.

June is preceded in death by her parents, brother Lee Boettcher, husband Alvin, infant son Nyle, son-in-law Brian Relay, and grandson Nyle Relay.

She is survived by her children: Nola Relay of White Bear Lake, MN, Tamra (David) Albers of Faribault, MN, and Grant Scherb of Kiester, MN; 5 grandchildren: Christine Relay, Michelle (Brian) Johnson, Eric (Saxony) Albers, Bryn Relay (special friend Derek), Tyler (Suree) Albers; great-grandchildren: Elizabeth Relay, Finley Albers, Tucker Albers, and Alexander Albers; and sister, Glenda (Virgil) Yost, cousins, several nieces and nephews.

June wanted everyone to remember to keep smiling and laughing. A special thanks for the friendship and care of the Hidden Creek staff and residents, and MCHS Hospice staff. Any memorials should be directed to Kiester Ambulance or Hidden Creek.
