Irene "Jean" Evan, age 87, of Minnesota Lake, MN died Saturday, December 28, 2019 at Cottagewood Senior Community in Mankato, MN. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, January 2, 2020 at 10:30 AM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Minnesota Lake, MN with Fr. Greg Havel officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery in Minn Lake. Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells is assisting the family.
Jean was born Jan. 9, 1932, the daughter of Frank and Hattie (Kullot) Stadulski in Aylesbury, Saskatchewan, Canada. She graduated from Mapleton High School in 1950. On September 12, 1950 she married James "Jim" Evan in Minnesota Lake. Jean lived in Minnesota Lake until moving to Cottagewood Senior Communities in Mankato in March of 2016. She worked for Nordaas American Homes and also worked alongside her husband at Jim's Woodcraft fixing and refinishing furniture for many people. She was an avid gardener, cook, baker, and seamstress making everything from Barbie clothes to wedding dresses.
Jean is survived by her children: Ron (Deb) Evan of Mankato, MN, Tim (Sandy) Evan of Rochester, MN, Sue (Mike) Stenzel of Clermont, FL; 10 grandchildren; 22 greatgrandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews and their families.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Jim; daughter Carol; brother Raymond Stadulski; and sisters Margaret Stadulski and Ursula Behnke.
The Family would like to thank Cottagewood Senior Communities of Mankato, MN for their warm and sincere care of their mother for the last four years.
