LaRue Rita Staloch Obituary

LaRue Rita Staloch, age 66, of Easton, MN died Saturday, June 13, 2020 at home with her family and great hospice care. She had heart valve repair done April 21 in Rochester, MN. On April 23, she suffered a massive heart attack. CPR was performed for 30 minutes but permanent brain damage was done. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, June 17, 2020 at 10:30 AM at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Easton, MN with Fr. Eugene Stenzel and Deacon Gene Paul officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 16th, from 6:00-8:00 PM at OLMC Catholic Church in Easton. Social distancing protocols will be followed and masks are strongly encouraged while in the sanctuary. Visitation on Wednesday prior to the service will be from 9:30-10:30 at the church. Interment will be at OLMC Cemetery in Barber Twp. Faribault Co., MN.
LaRue Rita was born August 6, 1953 in Mankato the daughter of Ken and Gloria Harris. She will forever be remembered with that great smile on her face. LaRue married Craig Staloch on September 28, 1974 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Minnesota Lake, MN, and to this union 3 sons were born. LaRue worked at the Minnesota Lake Post Office for 33 years, retiring as Postmaster in 2009. She retired for one day, and then took a job as a para-professional at the Maple River East Elementary school. She loved working in the kindergarten room with Cindy and spent an enormous amount of volunteer time after school getting projects ready for the next day. She never, ever said no to any challenge when asked to help someone and always had that positive attitude. LaRue was very active as one of the committee members for the annual Festag celebration in Minnesota Lake. She was the Treasurer keeping the detailed financial report in order. This included countless extra hours of helping many of the other committee's get organized.
LaRue was one of the most active people you could possibly know. She and Craig attended all of their sons sporting and extra-curricular events. This included going to college home games that were 6 hours away. They attend all of the grandchildren's events as well, as they are also big into sports and music. LaRue started making cookies for the KTOE boys Barry and John for all Maple River boys' basketball games that were broadcast when her sons played starting in 1993 until presently. John ate most of the cookies. LaRue looked forward to ladies day out with her great group of close friends. She didn't take nearly enough of those days to enjoy. She loved golfing and going on as many vacations as possible. She traveled to Alaska, Ireland, Costa Rica, Sweden, and Norway. She also saw many interesting sites throughout the United States.
She is survived by her loving husband Craig Staloch of Minnesota Lake, MN; Sons: Derek (Jill) Staloch of Jordan, MN, Aaron (Krista) Staloch of Medina, MN, Kyle (Katie) Staloch of Jordan, MN; 7 grandchildren: Sophia, Ben, Morgan, Jordan, Riley, Addison, and Jack; mother Gloria Harris; brother Paul Harris; step-sister: Shirlee Stevens; father-in-law: Louie Staloch of Easton, sisters-in-law Margo Latusek, Gayle (Vern) Heise, all of Easton, MN, brother-in-law Bryan Schmidt of Northfield; along with several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews and their families.
She is preceded in death by her father Ken Harris, mother-in-law Marvel Staloch, and sister-in-law Sheila Schmidt.
Thank you is not even close to what we would deem adequate for every single act of outpouring support we have received whether it was prayers, hugs, laughs, food, or monetary. You can never ever replace the small-town living. It is a unique way of life. LaRue is smiling down on us right now as the current song lyrics say (always be humble and kind). Craiger is going to have a big broken heart for a long time.
