Harrison Willard Miller Obituary

Harrison W. Miller, 96, died Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, MN. Funeral Services will be held Monday, October 21, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Open Doors United Methodist Church in Wells, with Pastors Chris Leistra and Paul Woolverton officiating. Visitation will be held Sunday, October 20, 2019 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Burial will be in Dunbar Memorial Cemetery, Minnesota Lake Twp., Faribault Co., MN.
Harrison was born July 6, 1923 on the family farm in Dunbar Township, the son of John and Helena (Black) Miller. Harrison was engaged in farming his entire life. On November 22, 1943, he married Ruth Thorson in Wells. After retiring, he enjoyed spending 25 years in Cross Lake, MN, in their summer home and wintering in Arizona. Harrison loved to fish and travel. Harrison and Ruth and neighborhood friends would often take trips together. After the passing of his wife, Ruth, Harrison found companionship and lived with Marion, until she moved to be near her children. Harrison was fortunate to find the companionship of Fern Miller of Minnesota Lake, MN, for many years until her death in 2016. Harrison was a member of Open Doors United Methodist Church. Harrison enjoyed talking to friends and enjoyed his family.
He is survived by daughter Heidi (Dan) Magnuson of Dunnellon, FL, and sons Barry (Joan) Miller of Prior Lake, MN, Jay (Sharon) Miller of Wells, MN, and Robin Miller of Wells, MN;
8 grandchildren: Tim Miller (Lynn Gately) of Oregon, Lisa (Aaron) Swanson, Ben (Betsy) Miller, and Ann (Derek) Brinkman, all of Prior Lake, MN, Max Miller of Amboy, Luke Miller (Michelle Sass) of Minneapolis, MN, Jeremy Miller of Texas, and Amber Hoechst of Minneapolis, MN; 11 great-grandchildren: Riley and Lula Swanson; Jackson, Lily, and Adeline Miller; Easton and Sawyer Brinkman; Brooklyn Miller; Ruth Hoechst; Cash and Ryden Miller.
Harrison was preceded in death by his wife Ruth (1987), grandson: Elliott, siblings: Roger (Phyllis) Miller, Linda (Earl) Scriver, Marion (Wilbert) Katzung, and Adeline (Spencer) Arndt.
